FLINTSHIRE and Wrexham are set to be battered by thunderstorms in the early hours of tomorrow morning (Wednesday).

In anticipation for the severe weather, the Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning which extends over much of England, Scotland and Wales for July 23 and 24.

The warning has been set to begin at 6pm tonight (Tuesday), and will last until 9am tomorrow, with most of the UK seeming set to be hit by thunder, lightning and torrential rain in that time.

For Flintshire, the severe weather isn’t expected to begin until around midnight and will last until approximately 4am.

Wrexham, meanwhile, will experience a longer period of poor conditions with the thunderstorms estimated to start at around 10pm tonight, while still lasting until 4am tomorrow.

Although some areas will miss the thunderstorms altogether, there is potential for frequent lightning, hail and gusty winds, as well as sudden downpours in the places that are hit.

The Met Office has warned that these scattered thunderstorms could cause poor driving conditions, power cuts, and damage to property (from lightning, hail or strong winds).
