MUSICALLY talented pupils have been celebrating after passing with distinction.

Children from Ysgol Llywelyn in Rhyl received their certificates from The London College of music.

A spokesperson from the school said: "Pupils from year five and six worked very hard over the year in preparing for their grade one, two or three Music Theatre Examination.

"For many of the pupils this was a new experience, with all demonstrating the passion and commitment to achieve success at a high standard.

"Incredibly, all pupils taking part in the exams passed with a distinction - the highest possible grade."

Ruby Taylor, year six, said: "Before the examination took place, I was very nervous and wasn’t sure if the examiner would like my performance.

"I am really glad that I did it. I learnt a lot and it was so much fun."

Harry Rourke, year six, said: "At the beginning of the process I was worried that I would forget my words and not perform to the standard that I had set myself. However, when performing on the stage I felt free and confident and became the character I was portraying."

Mrs Williams-Lumb, coordinator and year five teacher, said: "The impact on pupils confidence and skills has been massive, and it has been amazing watching each and every one blossom throughout the process."

Mari Gaskell, headteacher, said: "The London College of Music is a recognised examination board and for pupils of such a young age to achieve up to grade three is an outstanding achievement.

"We are proud of each and every one of them and encourage them all to develop their passion for musical theatre in the future."
