FILM and sci-fi fans will be flocking to Spencer Wilding's Darkside Comic Con this weekend.

The event will run on Saturday, August 10 at Ffirth Park between 10am and 5pm.

Rhyl's Spencer, who starred as Darth Vader in Star Wars Rogue One, will be bringing some of his acting friends to his first comic-con, which is being held in association with Rhyl comic shop and Garden Den.

Among those in attendance will be Jimmy Vee who played R2-D2 in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, succeeding Kenny Baker before Baker's death in August 2016; Six-foot 11inches tall Arie Dekker, who is best known for his role as Chewbacca's stunt double in Solo: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker and Christopher Patrick Nolan, a tv, stage and film actor who has played many roles in TV series such as Humans and films including Star Wars Rogue One.

Lee Charles, an ex-professional footballer turned actor, who's performed in the film adaptation of the comic Accident Man and the TV series Stan Lee's Lucky Man, will also be on hand as well as Paul Warren, actor, puppeteer and stuntman whose film credits include Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix, Star Wars The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.

A spokesperson for the event said: "The event is so much more than just guests from tv and cinema. We have comic artists whose work includes Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Suicide Squad, Spider-man, X-men, Doctor Who and Bob The Builder.

"We have stalls selling comics, action figures, original artwork and much more.

"We have entertainment throughout the day. We also have film props, Creepy Crawly Critters for photo opportunities and cosplay competitions."

Host Spencer, who plays werewolf Fenrir Greyback and a Death Eater in Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, has appeared in Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Guardians of the Galaxy, Green Lantern, Batman Begins and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.

This year he has appeared in two blockbuster franchises, Men in Black 4 and the latest Fast and Furious film.

There will be an after show party starting at 7.30pm with a DJ, live music from Elektra 56 as well as a few surprises.
