YSGOL Glan Clwyd is celebrating excellent A-level results again this year, improving on the high standards of previous years.

All of the pupils who sat A level exams this year attained the level three threshold performance measure of two A levels at A*-E grades. Almost a quarter of all grades achieved were A* or A grades and 84 per cent of them were A*-C grades.

Meanwhile, some 93 per cent of our students achieved A*-C grades in the advanced Welsh Baccalaureate.

Ysgol Glan Clwyd headteacher Bethan Cartwright said: "Students and staff deserve praise for their hard work and dedication over the last two years.

"The students should also be commended for their valuable contribution to extra-curricular activities and services to the community.

"Almost all students have obtained the grades or points score required for them to enter the university of their choice - attaining or getting higher than their personal, and often challenging, targets.

"It is also interesting to note that almost a fifth of our pupils were given unconditional offers for a place in university or college this year, which reflects the strength of their initial applications and personal attributes before sitting any examination.

"We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our students the very best as they take the next step in their careers, and thank their parents / guardians, who have given valuable support to their children and the school over the years."
