THEY are record breakers at a Denbigh establishment.

Myddelton College is delighted to be celebrating its best ever set of A-level results.

Some 30 per cent of entries have been achieved at A* or A grades.

Students achieved 100 per cent A*-A grades in business studies, further mathematics, government and politics, and physics.

Headmaster Andrew Allman said: “The hard work and dedication of our pupils and parents, together with small class sizes, expert teaching and the initiatives introduced by Mr Lloyd, our senior deputy headmaster (academic), have led to an excellent cluster of grades.

"We are all exceptionally proud of all our students’ achievements.”

Myddelton College will be sending students across the UK, to university destinations including Warwick, Edinburgh, Durham and Bristol.

Subjects to be studied by successful students will include mechanical engineering, english, mathematics with statistics, sports science, anthropology and sociology, and business studies.

Mr Allman, who is also head of the sixth form, added: “I congratulate both our students and our outstanding staff, who have all helped to contribute to the ethos and learning culture of Myddelton College.

This is a thriving, happy school going from strength-to-strength, as these A-level results and destinations clearly demonstrate.

"Our upper sixth leavers are an inspirational example to their peers.

"All of the sixth form pupils at Myddelton College benefit from a newly introduced mentoring system, helping them to prepare thoroughly for the UCAS university admissions process. They receive personal, expert advice from a leading professional.”

As well as the traditional subjects, Myddelton College is proud to offer a wide range of challenging and inspiring courses that are not always available at other schools, such as marine science, further mathematics, and government and politics.
