POLICE have launched an appeal for dashcam footage after a pedestrian was killed in a crash in Llangollen.

North Wales Police is investigating the incident involving a local woman and a black Kia car on Castle Street on Thursday morning.

The town centre street was closed by police after the crash at about 9.40am. Welsh Ambulance Service sent an emergency ambulance to treat the woman, who was injured on the road, at 9.54am.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service sent an appliance to the scene but its assistance was not required.

The woman was taken by Welsh Air Ambulance to Royal Stoke University Hospital, where she died as a result of her injuries.

Sgt Nicky Grimes Williams called for witnesses and dashcam footage to help the force’s investigation.

“Our thoughts are with the lady's family,” Sgt Grimes Williams said.
