YNYS Môn MP Albert Owen joined Wales' First Minister Mark Drakeford to launch a petition calling on the UK Government to honour its commitment to keep free TV licenses for the over 75's.

The petition was launched at the Anglesey Agricultural show last week, in partnership with Unite the Union and signed by show-goers from across the country.

North Wales Chronicle:

Mr Owen said that the government had "got this policy very wrong and will affect some of the poorest people in Anglesey and across the country".

He added: "We intend to carry on petitioning throughout the summer and I will be presenting it to the government at the start of the next Parliamentary term.

"The government need to take this issue away from the BBC as it is a social/welfare matter and the responsibility of Boris Johnson’s government."
