An 18-year-old arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a knife attack in Rhyl has been released on police bail.

A 43-year-old man remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital following the incident in Church Street, Rhyl, in the early hours of Tuesday, August 13.

Three men were arrested at the time, an 18-year-old from Merseyside on suspicion of attempted murder, and two men from the Denbigh area on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Two of these men have been released pending further investigation.

A third man has been released on police bail with strict conditions, one of which is that he cannot enter North Wales.

Superintendent Sian Beck said: “Our investigations are continuing, and I would like to reassure the public that we believe this to be an isolated incident.

“In the meantime, we continue to maintain a visible presence in the local area.

“I would encourage anyone with information that will assist us to contact police on 101 quoting reference X116491.”
