PERSEVERANCE and endeavour has won out at Ysgol Brynhyfryd!

A third of all of the GCSE students at the Ruthin school have this year achieved five or more A* and A grades.

They are now looking forward to starting their A levels at the Ysgol Brynhyfryd sixth form in September.

Ysgol Brynhyfryd headteacher Geraint Parry said: “Of course I’m delighted with the number of high grades achieved, but I am proud of all our students’ achievements.

"Here at Brynhyfryd, every grade and every pupil is valued.

“Through their hard work and with the tireless support of their teachers, our students can now look forward to taking the next exciting steps in their careers.”

Notable success stories include Cerys Edwards, who secured 10 A* grades and two As.

There were 9A*s and 3As for both Elin Elias and Ifan Gwyn, while Joe Drinkwater achieved 9A*s and 2Bs.

A magnificent seven A*s were picked up by Oliver Davies (3Bs), Auben Jarvis (4As) and Elis Jones (1A and 4Bs).

It was also a brilliant day for Aaron Connolly, with 6A*s, 3As and 2Bs, with Harry Jones claiming 5A*s, 3As and 2Bs.

Elsewhere, there were three A*s apiece for Ffion Evans (6As) and Hollie Thomas (8As), with Zareena Waseem securing 2A*s, 6As and a B.

Also celebrating were Gwenan Roberts (1A* and 8As) and Emilia Rumney (1A*, 9As and 2Bs).

Every year, Ysgol Brynhyfryd welcomes many new students to the sixth form.
