Tŷ Pawb has announced its autumn schedule of Live Music Showcase Recital Concerts.

The concerts start at 1pm and take place every Thursday, last for an hour and are free to attend.

They offer a broad range of music from the stage and screen and popular classics through to folk music and music from the jazz and blues era.

There’s 11 new artists in the autumn programme and a very special event on November 14 when there’s a world premiere of four pieces of music to new pieces especially written by David Subacchi, composed by four local musicians/composers as a tribute to the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and the 10 year anniversary of gaining World Heritage Status.

The four composers are Owen Chamberlain, Bruce Davies, Jago Parkyn and Honor Parkinson. Local poet Aled Lewis Evans will also be involved in the event.

• November 7, St Margaret’s Singers, choral.

• November 14, The Aqueduct World Heritage Site Concert, a special concert of newly written words and music celebrating the history and life of the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.

• November 21, Kate Heaton/Fanny Parker, singer songwriter.

• November 28, Royal Northern College of Music.

• December 5, Moreton Hall, Instrumentalists.

• December 12, Chris Sims, piano.

• December 19, KC Valentine, A Christmas Special.

Derek Jones, advisory board chair and organiser of the recital concerts, said: “These events have grown in popularity to an extent that there’s standing room only for most of them.

“They are hugely enjoyable, and I hope as many people as possible can call in to at least one free concert to see the amazing musical talent that we have here in Wrexham and the surrounding area.

“There are some costs associated with these concerts and you are invited to make a donation to ensure we can keep them going. A basket where you can place your donation is available as you leave the gallery.”
