A PROTEST against the suspension of Parliament is being held in Wrexham on Wednesday, September 4.

The protest will be taking place in Queen’s Square in the town centre from 5:30pm.

Boris Johnson has faced significant opposition to his plans to prorogue Parliament, including from the Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow, who branded the move a constitutional outrage.

Others have also claimed that proroguing Parliament is simply an opportunity to shut down debate by MPs, allowing the PM to push through a no-deal Brexit on October 31.

However, the Prime Minister has also received massive support from Brexiteers and politicians such as Michael Gove, who agrees with Mr Jonson that MP’s will have plenty of time to debate Brexit.

Event organiser Natasha Borton said: “This protest is about more than a referendum, it's bigger than Brexit. It's about our right to a democratic process. We want the protest to bring together our collective voices in defence of democracy.

“The event starts at 5.30pm in Queen Square with a short rally before marching to the Guildhall. Everyone opposed to this attack on democracy is welcome to attend.”
