BURGLARS attempted to break into ATM’s at a Wrexham supermarket according to North Wales Police.

An appeal was launched following an ‘incident’ at the Co-op in Johnstown on Friday, August 29.

North Wales Police have now confirmed that the incident was a burglary which occurred during the night-time, in which the offenders tried to break into the store’s ATM’s.

The police confirmed that the offenders failed to make off with any cash and are now calling for any witnesses.

A spokesperson from North Wales Police has said: “Officers attended burglary the at Co-op in Ruabon Road, Johnstown at 10.52pm Friday August 30.

“Offenders gained entry at the rear through the goods entrance. An attempt was made to a break into the ATM machines, but the offenders fled empty handed.
