A MOTORCYCLIST has died after colliding with a combine harvester in Denbighshire.

The incident took place at around 1.10pm on Sunday afternoon on the A525 Nant Y Garth pass - between Llysfasi college and the quarries in Denbighshire.

The collision involved a combine harvester and a motorcycle. The road was still closed in both directions, more than six hours after the incident occurred.

Sergeant Nicola Grimes-Williams of the roads policing unit said: "Sadly a man was pronounced dead at the scene. Our thoughts remain with the man’s family and friends at this difficult time.

"We are appealing for any witnesses, or anybody who may have been travelling along that particular stretch of road and who may have dash cam footage to contact us as soon as possible."

Wales Air Ambulance were in attendance, as well as an ambulance and rapid response vehicle.

North Wales Police asked motorists to avoid the area and find alternative routes, with traffic affected between Llandegla and Llysfasi.

A Wales Ambulance Service spokeswoman said; "We were called at 1.07pm and sent multiple resources to the scene, including a overland ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and an Air Ambulance also attended. "
