THE Sun Inn came out on top with a 5-4 win over the Swan Inn following a thrilling Rhyl & District Sunday League match.
Trevor Salisbury put the visitors in front before Danny Hughes scored for The Sun. It was then 2-1 before half time when Matty Edge bagged a goal.
The visitors made it 3-1 early on in the second 45 when Harrison Bellis scored but The Sun kept fighting and found a way back into the game, pulling it back to 3-3 through Aaron Hughes and Aaron Hoyle.
Eventually the home side took the three points thanks to goals from James Randall and Josh Grant.
Elsewhere in the league there was an emphatic win for reigning champions Mally - who beat new club Rydal Athletic 12-1.
Goals from Peter Jones (3), Ryan Jones (3), Francesco Gallina (3), Tom Prince, Kyle Robb and Nathan Watson did the damage.
Royal Oak also hit double figures, beating Conwy Comrades 10-1. Matty Rees and Josh Brown hit four goals apiece and Jake Hughes and Tom Jones also scored.
There was goals galore over at Y Clwb too as they lost 10-1 to Bar Bow. Matt Williams scored for the home side who were undone by goals from Kelvin Berks (3), Steve Flanagan (3), Jacob Jones, Richard Hall, Matty Beach and Steve Pendleton.
Finally, FC Prestatyn beat The Alex 4-2 - goals from Joe Dobbins (2), Gareth Edwards and Rhys Smith cancelling out Adam Porter and Matt Lauchlan's strikes for the home team.
