A CHARITY Ball is set to take place in Wrexham to raise money for a popular local hospice.

Deborah Corcoran will be running the event along with her husband at the Rossett Hall on Saturday, November 23, in aid of Nightingale House Hospice.

The pair are gearing up for a six-day trek up to Machu Picchu in Peru in November 2020, and over the course of the next year want to raise as much money for Nightingale House through fundraising.

Speaking to The Leader, Mrs Corcoran described what people can expect from the event, and explained why the hospice is a worthwhile cause.

She said: “The Charity Ball will be one of numerous events that we plan to put on over the next year or so, in order to fundraise as much money as possible for Nightingale House.

“Nightingale House is such a worthwhile cause, it does so much great work for so many people in Wrexham.

“Both me and my husband have lost family to cancer and some of them spent their final days at Nightingale House, so we know first-hand just how hard the people work.

“In terms of what people can expect, there will be a four-course meal for everyone, a live group performing as well as a comedy performer.

“There will also be an auction with some brilliant prizes to win, including a holiday, a new TV, tickets to Disneyland Paris and a signed Manchester United football.

“I want to thank Chetwood Bank, Ifor Williams Trailers, and Bicks Chicks who are three local companies who have all helped me so much so far in terms of donations.

“I would also like to mention that I forgot to say the group 32 RED are also doing this for me for free to help out with the fundraising and they are a popular great local group.”
