WHILE attempting to walk 20 miles sounds like a challenge at the best of times, one group decided to complete the feat at night-time in order to raise money for charity.

Clwyd 2020, the Vale of Clwyd fundraising committee for the Royal Welsh Show, led the gruelling ‘20.20 Mile Moonwalk’ which took nearly six hours on Saturday, September 14.

The group of 18 people gathered at Wern Vets in Ruthin and set off at 11pm before they trekked to Llanbedr and Llandyrnog, on to Llanrhaeadr and up past the old Bryn Morfydd. The walkers - who stopped for refreshments at the five, 10 and 15-mile points - then moved on to Saron, across to Cyffylliog, down through Bontuchel and returned to Ruthin at 5.45am for a well-earned sleep.

The committee is accepting donations to be split between Clwyd 2020 and Prostate Cymru. To donate, visit the Clwyd 2020 website.
