The Cerrigydrudion Show was staged in the village on September 7 and there were plenty of entries in the sheep exhibition pens. They included totals of 180 Welsh Mountain sheep, 18 rams and more than 40 Hardy Speckled sheep.

The popular FUW-sponsored Tri Hwrdd Championship for three rams was awarded to Tomos Roberts’ Hardy Speckled while Mona Williams’ Pedigree Welsh in reserve.

The horse section was shut due to the outbreak of equine flu during the summer months, but new additions this year included Blue Faced Leicester, Balwen and Charmoise sheep which will be retained next year.

Meanwhile the quality of cattle stock was said to be outstanding. They included an outstanding commercial heifer from Glyn Williams, Trawsfynydd, Champion, a Charolais heifer from R O Williams, Caerddaniel, shown by Aled Shenton and in Bull Calf section was taken by a Welsh Black, shown by Ken Ellis and Sons, of Tywyn, from the Ynysfor herd
