RAYS of sunshine have been on display from speedy swimmers.

It has been a fine few months for members of the Ruthin Rays swimming club.

There was a busy July for the Ruthin Rays, starting with an activities and fun day at Llyn Tegid, Bala.

A massive thank you goes to all the parents and swimmers for making it a very memorable and enjoyable day, with a special thank-you to Iain for all his hard work in arranging the open water activities.

Thanks also go to the instructors that gave their time and expertise instructing and supervising the kayaking and paddleboarding.

The 'tropical' theme seemed to have the desired effect with gorgeous weather and glorious sunshine.

Ruthin Rays then attended the Len Thomas gala at Llandudno with a team of 15 swimmers.

They performed amazingly well, achieving great personal bests and getting a great haul of points and medals for the team.

Millie Hannant claimed six golds and the top girl accolade, with Ando Hannant also claiming gold.

There were a clutch of medals and personal bests from Gabriella Bailey, Dylan Cookson, Nathaniel Grant, William Grant, Shannon Harvey, Jessica Hilton-Jones, Daniel Jones, Meirion Jones, Amelia Lloyd, Dylan Menzies, Katie Parton, Gruff Price and Llio Thomas.

Along with all of these fantastic individual swims, the club had both an A and a B team for the 13 and under freestyle relay at the end of session one, and again for the 13 and under medley relay at the end of session two.

These relays saw amazing team efforts, with the A team achieving a silver in the freestyle and fourth in the medley.

Meanwhile, the B team completed the medley for a commendable seventh after demonstrating amazing teamwork and enthusiastic support for each other.
