A schizophrenic man accused of staggering around Denbigh with a bloodied face after a fall, and swearing, admitted being drunk and disorderly.
Meredydd Mitchell, aged 31, of East Parade, Rhyl, was in breach of a suspended sentence imposed recently, magistrates at Llandudno heard.
But the court decided not to activate it, ruling it would be “unjust” because a rehabilitation order was in its early stages and due to his personal circumstances.
The operational period was extended by a month and he was fined £40 for being drunk and disorderly and must pay £117 costs.
“You need to look after yourself and work with probation,” court chairwoman Grainne McDonagh said to Mitchell.
Defence solicitor Huw Roberts said he’d spent two nights in custody.
