Two men were stabbed in Flintshire on Monday night, police have confirmed.

The incident happened near the entrance to Corus Steel in Garden City at around 9pm.

One of the victims sustained serious stab wounds and is currently being treated in hospital.

Police confirm they believe the victims made their way to the Texaco garage on Sealand Road after the attack.

Two suspects, described as black males, made off on foot.

Santosh Nandakumar, manager at the Texaco garage, was not present at the time but was called to the garage after it was closed off by the police.

He said: "At 8.54pm a black car pulled up with two guys in, a passenger and driver.

“The passenger tried to come into the shop asking for an ambulance for the driver who was saying ‘no’, he will take them to the hospital.

“They both came into the shop and one man asked the staff member to call an ambulance but the other guy kept saying ‘no’.

“They were both bleeding from their faces.

The Leader:

“The guy who was in the passenger seat lay down on the floor and wouldn’t get up and when the staff member saw the blood all over the floor, they called the ambulance and police.”

He added: “The incident didn’t happen here but we heard it happened somewhere else in Deeside and they just stopped by the store, but we don’t know why.

“The staff member working was pretty shaken up as there was a lot of blood on the floor.”

DCI Gary Kelly of North Wales Police, said: "This was a violent incident in which a man has suffered serious injuries.

"Our investigation is at an early stage and I am appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

"The public will see an increased police activity in the area as we carry out our enquiries."

A Welsh Ambulance Service’s Spokesperson said: “We were called yesterday at approximately 9.10pm to reports of an incident outside a filling station on Sealand Road.

"We responded with one rapid response vehicle. North West Ambulance Service also attended and transported a patient to hospital.”
