A BATTON, screwdriver and knife were found as part of a police operation in Rhyl.

Operation Blue Steel was conducted at Brickfield Pond on Wednesday, October 30.

A wanted woman was arrested. Several stop/searches done were carried out and a vehicle was seized for no insurance.

Patrols will continue in the area.

A spokesperson from North Wales Police Denbighshire Coastal and Abergele said: "Specially trained search officers, along with colleagues from the Central Operational Support Group and Neighbourhood Policing Team were involved. The operation focuses on the searching of public places where intelligence indicates that criminal activity may take place.

"The purpose of the search is to frustrate criminal activity, searching identified areas for evidence of criminal offences and depriving criminals of ready access to locations via pro-active targeting."

This type of operation is set to be conducted in other locations identified within the district.

District Inspector James Keene said: "This is part of our ongoing strategy to combat and prevent criminal activity and offending."
