TWO men have been arrested after an armed police vehicle was damaged during a high-speed chase near Ruthin.
The incident, involving a suspected stolen van, happened in the early morning hours of Thursday, November 21.
A North Wales Police spokesperson said the driver of the vehicle “failed to stop at the request of officers after dangerous driving” at about 3.13am.
"A chase then ensued on local roads and forest tracks," the spokesperson said.
The Cheshire & North Wales Police Armed Alliance said the arrests were made for unauthorised taking of a motor vehicle, dangerous and drug driving.
A spokesperson for the unit tweeted: "Despite damaging one of the ARVs ourselves and North Wales Police Roads Policing Unit arrested the two occupants of this van for UTMV, dangerous and drug driving after pursuit around Ruthin.
The tweet added that the suspects” will be interviewed later but good teamwork all round resolved this incident safely”.
Enquiries are understood to be ongoing.
