THE season to be jolly is soon to take off in Denbigh as Santa Claus comes to town to celebrate the annual Christmas Lights Switch On.

The fun-filled day begins outside the Town Hall at 10am this Friday, November 29 when producers get the sights and smells of Christmas underway with locally produced mulled wine, gin, cakes and chocolates.

They will be supplemented by the sounds of school choirs, including Ysgol Pendref from 10am-10.20am, Ysgol Frongoch from 11am-11:20am, Ysgol Twm r Nant from 11.30am-11.50am, Denbigh High School from 1.15pm-1.30pm, St Brigid’s School from 2pm-2.20pm and Myddelton College from 3pm-3.20pm.

Elsewhere around the Town Hall there will be crafts stalls, entertainment including a magician, community group performances fairground rides and Santa’s Grotto.

As the sun sets the Denbigh community will get ready for the much-loved light switch-on at 6pm, attended by town representatives including mayor Gaynor Wood-Tickle.
