A VALE of Clwyd town has most certainly seen the light.

Saturday proved to be a major occasion in Ruthin's calendar, with the annual Christmas market and the switching on of the town's Christmas lights.

Due to the hard work of the Ruthin Forward team, there were in the region of 40 stalls attending Ruthin Christmas Market, most of them situated on St

Peter’s Square, while a few were also located within the Old Courthouse.

There were a variety of entertaining performances over the course of the day, from Ruthin Panto Society’s Rockin’ Robins and the Syrcas Cimera Fire Performers, as well as Ysgol Borthyn choir, Ysgol Stryd y Rhos choir and Rock Choir North Wales.

Then came the switching on of Ruthin's Christmas lights, conducted by town mayor Cllr Gavin Harris.

Ruthin town councillor Anne Roberts described it as a "great day all round".
