ARTISANS and crafters are set to light up grade II listed schoolgrounds with the sights, sounds and smells of Christmas.

Myddelton College will stage its Christmas Fayre for the third year in a row this weekend with more than 40 stalls, fresh food and live music. The family event will also have a special visit from Sion Corn who will meet well-behaved children at his grotto.

Punam Spencer, chair of Friends of Myddelton said: “This is the third year we have held the event and each year we have tremendous community support. We have had a lot of interest from artisans, artists and producers across North Wales.

“From real Christmas decorations and wreaths, through to food gifts, gourmet chocolates, art and clothing, each stall-holder offers something a little different to the others, so there will be a real variety of goods on offer.”

Andy Allman, headteacher, said: “The Christmas Fayre is a highlight of the calendar and really sets the scene for the festive season. It’s a community, family-focused event, where people can shop local and find fantastic gifts, or simply enjoy some of the excellent musical entertainment we have lined up.

“This is one event that should get everyone in the mood for Christmas.”

Myddelton College Christmas Fayre opens at 11.30am on Saturday, December 7. Entrance is free and parking is available. For more information email fom@myddeltoncollege.co.uk
