LOVE Island's Amber Davies revealed she has jungle fever! As she hopped on a plane to Australia.

Amber, who wowed fans with her voice in 9 to 5 the Musical, is appearing this week on I'm a Celebrity: Extra Camp.

The former Ysgol Glan Clwyd pupil, who is from Denbigh, played Judy Bernly in 9 to 5 the musical tour for the last time in November.

The Love Island champion made her debut in the West End before embarking on the tour.

Mum Susan Davies has revealed to the Journal and Free Press that her daughter is now in Australia where she will spend two weeks.

She is set to appear three times on Extra Camp - the spin off to I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! - which is hosted by presenters Adam Thomas, Emily Atack and Joel Dommett.

She will then spend a week with a friend in Adelaide.

Susan said: "She touched down in Dubai for two hours before flying on to Australia. She arrived in Brisbane and she is staying in New South Wales.

"She is going to be on Extra Camp three nights this week. She is so excited. It is an amazing opportunity.

"It has been the best year for Amber and she feels so lucky. She loved starring in 9 to 5 and loved working with the creative team and musical director.

"She is ready for a rest but this opportunity came along which is fantastic.

"She has got such a good work ethic. She has had a really good year."

Susan revealed that Amber will be tasked with doing a bushtucker trial.

"She is a huge fan of the show," she added.

"She loves it. She is worried about the bushtucker trial and if she will be a bit of a wimp!

"I will be watching her on it.

"She also can't wait to meet Ant and Dec and I would imagine she will meet the different celebrities and they come out the jungle.

"She was looking forward to seeing the camp, the bridge, and just feels so privileged. She is very grounded."

Amber recently bought her own house. Susan revealed that Amber has a few opportunities lined up for next year, but was staying tight lipped for now.

"The time she spent in 9 to 5 the musical has gone so fast," Susan said.

"It has been a crazy year. She was sad it has come to an end but it can't go on forever. She has to stretch herself but she has shown she has got the stamina and she would definitely like to do another show in time. That is what she is trained to do. She would love to do another West End show or a Broadway show in time."

Amber, and her sister Jade, will be home for Christmas. Jade is in Italy and is performing in My Fair Lady.

Susan admitted: "It will be nice to have both girls home."
