A HOST of festive goodies and activities were on offer at an event in the heart of Wrexham village.

The Frost Fair at the Wynnstay Arms in Ruabon, took place on Sunday, December 8, with dozens coming to see what was on offer in the winter wonderland.

In addition to a free Santa's grotto, there were more than 30 stalls offering all kinds of items - such as foods, Christmas crafts and gifts, a tombola and more.

The fair was organised by the Friends of Ruabon group who are volunteers that put on events like this for the benefit of the local community and surrounding villages.

Money raised will fund various community projects facilitated by the Friends of Ruabon.

The event organiser said the event was a big success and was pleased to see people in attendance enjoying the Christmas spirit.

She said: “It is so nice seeing the turnout and all of our hard work as a group come together. We have been planning this since August and all of the tables were snapped up by September!"

The Wynnstay Arms landlady told the Leader that the pub was delighted to offer the room to the Friends of Ruabon as the pub is right in the centre of the communtiy so made perfect sense to bring the community together "at the heart of Ruabon".
