Ruthin Festival

A POPULAR Denbighshire festival is holding a cheese and wine event on the evening of Tuesday, January 28 to get the views of the local community.

The organisers of Ruthin Festival, which celebrated its 25th year in 2019, want the opinion of local residents and business and if possible visitors to the area about the event, so that future festivals can be better organised and appeal to everyone.

"We want the views and opinions of everyone in the local community and so there is an open invitation to all on the evening of the 28th to the Old Courthouse," said festival committee chair Gwion Tomos.

"If people believe the festival can improve in some way, currently has an issue that needs resolving or just want to raise a point about the festival – then this is an opportunity to do so."

The event starts at 7pm and runs until 9pm, and has a drop-in format so the public are welcome to attend at any point during those two hours.

The event is being held in the newly renovated Old Courthouse building in Ruthin, previously the Natwest branch which is now converted into use as a community and cultural hub.

The festival is run by a committee of volunteers who met monthly at the Old Courthouse to run and organise the week-long festival and, of course, the popular Top of Town event on the last Saturday.

The committee has recently confirmed that the date of the 2020 Top of Town event will be Saturday, July 4, with the line-up being announced early in 2020.
