Run Free

A CHILLY occasion has been enjoyed by honeymooning Dee Valley athletes.

Run Free Club members Heather Pritchard-Jones and Matt Pritchard competed in the Polar Night Half Marathon, in Norway, after travelling from their wedding in Gretna!

The race is based in Tromso.

The Polar Night run is a race with a difference. It takes place in the middle of the day, but because the sun hasn't risen above the horizon, it is still dark!

It is an exciting event, with the black stuff being replaced by beautiful crisp white snow.

The route is lit by torch-light and people who are really lucky might get a glimpse of the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights).

The Run Free duo finished in two hours and 12 minutes, with Heather finishing 544th, one place ahead of Matt.

Closer to home, Susan Wallace competed in the Wirral Way Winter Half.

She finished 136th in one hour and 57 minutes.
