LIBRARIES are challenging residents to ‘do something different; this January, whether it is doing a craft, hobby, sport, or even reading a book.

There will be lots of activities in libraries across Denbighshire to help inspire, including arts and crafts demonstrations, book displays, knitting, and learning how to play chess.

Activities on offer include:

Monday, January 20 9.30am until 2.45pm. Block printing at Denbigh Library.

Monday, January 20 10am until 12pm Knit, Natter and a Cuppa at Llangollen Library.

Monday, January 20 2pm until 3.30pm. Make a Mindfulness Jar at Llangollen Library.

Monday, January 20 2pm until 3.30pm. Make a Mindfulness Jar at Ruthin Library.

Tuesday, January 21 1pm until 3pm. Play Chess at Rhyl Library (traditionally and also online).

Tuesday, January 21 11.30am until12.30pm. Arfon Wyn at Denbigh Library - Music and Singing in Welsh and English, led by well-known musician Arfon Wyn

Thursday, January 23 10am until 12pm. Arts and craft session at Corwen Library with local artist Jude Wood.

Friday, January 24 10.30am until 12pm. Make a Mindfulness Jar at St Asaph Library.

A spokesperson from Denbighshire County Council said: “There will be lots of activities in local libraries to help inspire, including arts and crafts demonstrations, book displays, knitting, and learning how to play chess.

"Learning something new is a great way to make you feel good and build your confidence.

"As well as learning something new it is important to connect with other people, take time to have a chat with friends and family, and meet new people.

"You could join a reading group at the library."
