A FAMILY has been left "heartbroken" following the death of the "most kind and amazing" young Wrexham mum.

Tributes have been paid to Shannon Platt, from Rhosnesni, who died suddenly aged 23 on December 29, 2019.

She leaves behind five-month-old baby Wilhelmina - and was a much loved wife, daughter, sister and granddaughter.

With keen interests including politics and journalism, and a lover of food and travel - Shannon was a student with the Open University, studying a Bachelor's Degree in History at the time of her death.

And Shannon's husband of four years, Jamie Platt, has paid a touching tribute to her.

He said: "Shannon was the most kind and amazing person you could ever wish to meet - and the sudden death of my beloved wife will always leave my heart broken.

"She was an amazing mum and friend - and I was honoured to call her my wife, my best friend and the mother to our child and I will always carry her in my heart."

Shannon's mum, Lynsey Ash, shared similar sentiments.

She said of her daughter: "Shannon just had the most beautifully quirky personality and everyone just loved her to bits.

"Everyone is going to miss her so much and it breaks my heart to know she won't be there to see baby Wilhelmina take her first steps, her first day at school and grow up.

"We all feel a numbness at the shock of her death but we can now only pledge to keep her memory alive."

The Leader:

Shannon's funeral service and committal will be held at Northop Crematorium on Friday January, 24 at 11am.

Donations in lieu of flowers are gratefully received towards The Autistic Society.
