CROWDS lined Chester city centre streets as the annual Chinese New Year celebrations were commemorated with a parade.

Performers from the Wah Lei Chinese Association were out in force as they showcased a Tai Chi, Lion and Dragon dance parade from Bridge Street to Storyhouse, marking The Year of the Rat.

Upon arrival at the culture hub, there was more dancing, songs and an appearance by special guest tai chi Panda.

The group then enjoyed a fantastic feast at The Slowboat Chester.

Wah Lei has been supported by Cheshire West and Chester Council, CHAWREC, Bank of America, University of Chester, The Slowboat Chester Restaurant, Ji Sui Tai Chi, Hung Gar Martial Arts Academy and Storyhouse, plus volunteers from Cheshire, Wirral and North Wales.
