A DENBIGH schoolgirl is one of the fastest young swimmers in the country.
Eight-year-old Mared Ann Parry, a pupil at Ysgol Twm o'r Nant, in Denbigh, represented Denbighshire in the Urdd national swimming gala.
This event took place in Cardiff last Saturday, January 25.
Thanks to a brilliant performance, Mared won the silver medal in the years three and four breaststroke race.
Her time to finish in second position was 25.83 seconds.
