LEAVING Wales in order to build a new life.

That will be the topic of a forthcoming production that will be on stage at a Vale of Clwyd venue.

Denbigh's Theatr Twm o'r Nant will be playing host to West, which will hit the stage on Saturday, February 21.

Gareth Bale and Gwenllian Higginson will perform West, a brand new play from Owen Thomas, the award winning writer of Grav.

West explores the lives of two Welsh people who fall in love and decide to leave Wales in order to build a new life in the New World.

Set in the 19th century, the play details the hardships and adventures they faced, as well as the characters they encountered along the way.

It is directed by Gareth John Bale, the hugely successful Welsh actor and director, and introduces Gwenllian Higginson, best known to theatre audiences for Miss Julie, Exodus and Merched Caerdydd.

It was commissioned by the North American Festival of Wales and received its first public performance in Wisconsin in August 2019.

Doors will open at Theatr Twm o'r Nant at 7pm on February 21, with the show starting at 7.30pm.

Tickets are priced at £10.
