AMBITIOUS Clwb Rygbi Dinbych is involved with a number of projects both on and off the field.

The main projects involve the playing facilities, include making improvements to the main pitch and training pitches.

The training pitch has already been levelled and is about to be re-seeded in the early spring, while the main pitch will then be levelled.

Its drainage will also improved and reseeded during the next stage of the project, which is planned in conjunction with the Welsh Rugby Union.

On the playing side at Dinbych, it is intended to launch a ladies team for next season.

Training and fitness sessions under the direction of David Jones will start in April and if a squad of 25 is achieved, it is hoped a team will take part in the North Wales League next season.

Anyone interested in becoming a playing member, or is able to assist with coaching, should contact club secretary Gruff Roberts in the first instance via gruffroberts@hotmail.co.uk

Off the field, the club, with the aid of with the aid of Heritage Lottery funding, is involved in an archive project detailing the history of Dinbych.

The first stage of this was gathering information from a number of Dinbych members to publish a book on the first 40 years of the club's existence, which was celebrated in 2017.

The book traced the playing fortunes of the mini/junior, youth, senior and veteran sections, the development of the playing facilities, the fund raising and the work of volunteers and officials during that period.

The local press also contributed in providing reports of matches and meetings, as well as photographs for publications.

Anyone interested in obtaining a copy of the book - Clwb Rygbi Dinbych 40 Mlynedd o Rygbi / Years of Rugby (price £10) should contact Gruff Roberts at gruffroberts@hotmail.co.uk

Thanks to the assistance of staff at the National Library of Wales at the present time, the project is involved in recording a number of bilingual interviews with club members which will be uploaded to the Casgliad y Werin / the People's Collection of Wales website.

A number of items have already been uploaded and can be viewed on the website.
