POLICE have launched an appeal after a medicine box containing a potentially life-threatening dose of drugs was stolen from Glan Clwyd Hospital.
North Wales Police said the ‘cardiac crash box’ was taken from the Bodelwyddan hospital’s radiology department on Thursday, February 27.
The plastic box contained quantities of adrenaline, amiodarone and calcium chloride which “could be life-threatening if taken or administered incorrectly,” a police spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said: “Do you know anything about a ‘Cardiac Crash Box’ that was stolen from Glan Clwyd Hospital Radiology department on Thursday, February 27?
“The hard red plastic box contained drugs including Adrenaline, Amiodarone and Calcium Chloride, which could be life threatening if taken or administered incorrectly."
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board said it is unable to comment further.
The police spokesperson added: “Anyone with any information relating to the theft or the whereabouts of the stolen items is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 20000125905.”
