A NEWLY refurbished bespoke fitness studio has opened at Llangollen Leisure Centre.

The new studio will improve the group exercise class facilities offered to members and the local community.

Previously laid out as a classroom and temporary studio, the refurbishment includes new ventilation, redecoration, improved lighting upgraded to LED, new rubberised flooring ideal for a range of activities and classes, and removal of the old classroom equipment.

The classroom was used previously by both members of the centre and by Ysgol Dinas Brân’s PE department and has now been converted into a superior studio space, providing a much improved environment for fitness classes, activities and PE lessons.

The work will ensure that Llangollen residents have the same standard of facilities that Denbighshire Leisure provides across the county.

Cllr Bobby Feeley, Denbighshire County Council’s Cabinet Lead Member for well-being and independence, said: “At a time when most authorities are implementing cuts to their leisure services, in Denbighshire we are bucking that national trend. We actually see the benefit that the ongoing investment in Denbighshire has on people’s health and well-being and that is a great and valid reason to continue the investment county-wide.

“Demand for our facilities is increasing year on year and we are meeting that demand by providing additional classes of all kinds and investing in our fitness classes and group exercise programmes, to make sure our facilities meet the needs of our residents.”
