AN OWNER is on a desperate search for her 12-week-old Cockatiel who has gone missing from a village.

Charlie escaped from his home in Carrog on Monday, March 9.

He came to live with Rosemary Williams at seven-weeks old; his parents had reject him.

Rosemary - known as Rose - said: "His dad actually pulled the feathers out of his head before they were separated. He was subsequently hand-reared on specialist food and his favourite, scrambled egg.

"Over the following weeks, Charlie became very tame.

Denbighshire Free Press:

Charlie escaped last Monday (March 9)

"We developed a close bond. He was also close to my three-year-old granddaughter Catrin and her daughter's puppy, Luna.

"He enjoys nothing better than exploring the kitchen while I am carrying out the housework."

Rose said the pet was called Charlie as 'it is non-gender specific.'

She added: "The only way to determine his real gender would be via DNA analysis of his feathers. He could quite possibly be a she."

Rose and her family have taken to social media to ask the public to look out for Cockatiel.

They have also put up posters up around the village.

"I has been overwhelmed by the response from neighbours," Rose added,

"Despite moving his cage outside and playing audio of cockatiel, Charlie hasn’t returned home - though there have been two possible sightings of him in the area."

Anyone who see Charlie is asked to telephone 01490 430371 / 07890 485690.

He may be tempted with some scrambled egg.
