RHUG Estate has donated all of its surplus stock to a children’s hospice amid the coronairus outbreak.

Hope House Hospice in Oswestry were thrilled when the estate near Corwen's owner, Lord Newborough, recently delivered cakes, bread, milk and eggs to them.

Lord Newborough wanted to find a good home for surplus stock due to customers cancelling their orders or closing down their businesses.

Following Government advice, Rhug Estate also had to shut its Bistro and Takeaway to customers earlier this week.

Owner, Lord Newborough, however, insists he will keep the Farm Shop and Drive Thru open for as long as he possibly can to supply local customers with their daily essentials and key workers with a drive thru service.

He said, “I am thrilled that we found a good cause to donate this food to. Something positive has come out of customers cancelling their orders or closing down.”

Rhug Estate is also helping those who are following government orders to stay at home by continuing its online shop and home delivery service for as long as it possibly can.

Lord Newborough added, “I would like to thank our customers for their kind words and support. We appreciate their loyalty. We are also grateful to visitors in our Farm Shop for adhering to the four customers at a time policy and socially distancing from other shoppers to keep everyone safe."
