A DEESIDE woman aims to spread some joy amidst the coronavirus lockdown.

Lynne Chick, of Hawarden, wrote a special note for the bin men, who are still working to ensure bins are empties, in a bid to put a smile on their face.

The note read: "To our bin men, thank you for doing an amazing job. Stay safe.

"Bin handles have been washed down in bleach, hopefully this helps keep you safe."

Lynne said it is important that we all do our bit to protect one another as much as possible.

She told the Leader: "I'd seen someone on another group do it, and thought how lovely. I can't even begin to imagine how our bin men/recycling men are coping right now.

"If we could all leave a little note to let them know we are thinking of them and reassure them we are doing our best to take small steps to try keep them safe by bleaching or disinfecting bin lids and handles.

"My hope is this will help ease any anxieties they may be dealing with, if only a little bit. If people could also be mindful when disposing of used tissues, do not put them in recycle paper, we need to all do our very best to protect each other as much as possible."
