A DENBIGH man has busted out the Mr Motivator Lycra to "keep morale high" for a community of more than 1,400.

Since Monday, March 23rd Fitness instructor Paul Edwards has been ensuring that people can exercise without leaving the house with virtual classes over Facebook.

The personal trainer - who runs one to one training sessions throughout Denbigh and Ruthin as Paul Edwards Fitness - has created a timetable of seven virtual classes, morning and evening, going live weekly to 1,421 people as the Free Press went to print.

Mr Edwards, who runs one to one training sessions throughout Denbigh and Ruthin as Paul Edwards Fitness, said: "The main emphasis is to ensure people can still exercise without leaving the house, but most importantly to keep people focused and positive during Covid-19.

"We have had fancy dress classes with over 150 people participating and dressing up for the occasion. It’s not just been for adults, we’ve had children join in the fun."

The fancy dress themed workouts - every Thursday - began after members asked Mr Edwards to dress up as Mr Motivator for his 37th birthday on Thursday, March 26.

Wife Katie Edwards also joins in, showing a series of 'mummy and baby' workouts with six month old son Alfie aimed at mothers stuck at home without child care, while Mr Edwards has also demonstrated a children’s workout with daughter Amelia, aged three.

Denbigh based participant Corrina Edwards said: "When we became stuck in lockdown, Paul decided to bring fitness to our homes. He has used his page as a way to keep us all mentally sane, in routine, and keep morale high.

"These classes were live so it felt like you were at one of his classes with his positive supportive comments! Paul also added elements of fun by doing a Challenge 25 in which people paid to complete 25 workouts, post selfies and will gain a Paul Ed’s hoody or T-shirt.

"I speak on behalf of all on the group I am sure that it has helped massively keep mentally positive, keep a routine, a feel good and morale high."
