A group of volunteers from Llanwrtyd Wells have been busy making hundreds of vital scrubs and face masks for Welsh hospitals.

Staff at Llandrindod Wells War Memorial Hospital, Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil, Hereford Hospital, the Aneurin Bevan Health Board and Macmillan Palliative Care Powys have all received personal protective equipment (PPE) made by the Llanwrtyd Scrubs team.

More than £2,880 has been raised by the public and local organisations, Green Events and The Grapevine, to help the hard-working group of sewers continue their work for key workers and NHS staff.

Dana Conlin, co-ordinator, said: "We've had so many lovely messages from people who have received our items.

"We are all so grateful for those, it helps us to keep going to know we are still helping."

Llanwrtyd Scrubs have made more than 100 sets of scrubs and 280 patient bags including 60 gowns for staff at Llandrindod Wells hospital and 40 face masks for a nursing home.

Volunteers are in the process of making 70 sets of scrubs for Hereford Hospital ICU staff and they have also been asked to make small personal bags for possessions of patients who have, sadly, died at hospitals in the Aneurin Bevan Health Board area in south-east Wales.
