DOZENS of new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in North Wales in the last day, Public Health Wales figures show.

There have been 69 new cases confirmed in the region, with 20 in Conwy, 13 in Denbighshire, 11 in Wrexham, 10 in Flintshire, nine in Gwynedd and six on Anglesey.

The number of North Wales cases makes up 43 per cent of the total number of new cases in Wales, and for the second successive day Conwy county reported the highest number of new cases out of any local authority in Wales.

The total number of confirmed cases in North Wales passed 2,000 this weekend.

Nationally, 162 new cases were reported, with 12 people who had tested positive for coronavirus having sadly died in the last day.

The total number of suspected coronavirus deaths in Wales now stands at 1,203, with 12,304 confirmed cases of the virus in the country.
