A LORRY carrying nitrogen and sulphur jack-knifed and was wedged between two houses in Bishop’s Castle.

No one was reported injured in the incident that happened on Monday afternoon (May 19).

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said it received a call at 1.08pm that a collision had taken place in Welsh Street.

Two fire engines including the environmental protection unit and the rescue tender were sent from Bishops Castle and Clun. Operations and Hazmat officers also attended the incident, along with West Mercia Police.

Bishop’s Castle police tweeted their thanks to the “affected residents whilst the emergency services dealt with this incident”, adding: “This was a multi agency incident which thankfully ended well with no injury or damage.”
