A SCHOOL that had to close as a ‘precautionary measure’ has re-opened to staff.
Christ the Word Catholic School in Rhyl was shut down for a deep clean after a teacher associated with a parent who has Covid-19.
A spokesperson for Denbighshire County Council said: “The school was closed for two days as a precautionary measure whilst a deep clean took place.
“That work has now been completed and the school has now re-opened for staff.
“The school is not one of the hub schools therefore is not open to children at this time.”
On Tuesday, May 19, the Journal reported that a member of the public with coronavirus had been in contact with a member of staff, prior to diagnosis.
Both individuals had followed 'strict' social distancing measures.
"There are no confirmed members of school staff with coronavirus," the council confirmed.
