A FLINTSHIRE girl is selling her rainbow drawings to raise money for a local care home which looked after her grandmother.

Pauline Lloyd, 68, sadly died recently after contracting Covid-19 while at Morfa Newydd care home in Greenfield - where she had spent the last five years of her life.

As a token of thanks for the care home's "wonderful" care of Pauline, her family are raising money for its staff.

And this includes nine-year-old granddaughter Isabelle Williams - who is selling rainbow drawings for 50p per picture - with help from little brother Samuel, 7.

The Leader:

So far, Isabelle has raised over £100, with people making generous donations, and the family as a whole has raised over £1,100 via JustGiving.

Mum Rachael Williams said: "We lost our beautiful mum to the coronavirus, she fought with everything she had but the battle was just too much.

"The care home staff put their lives at risk to keep our beloved mum alive and we want to support their tireless selfless dedication by raising money for them,

"These people are the unsung heroes of the world we are living in and the care they provide is exceptional."

Rachael says Morfa Newydd became like a "second home" for her and her family.

She says without its staff's "amazing" quality of care, her mother - who had Multiple sclerosis and Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease - wouldn't have lived as long as she did.
