THE recycling centre has reopened in Llandrindod Wells today, with residents warned there is already a long queue forming.

A spokesman for Dyfed Powys Police's Radnorshire team said: "There is a long queue to the recycling centre in Llandrindod wells this morning, expect a long wait."

Other recycling centres in Powys were also able to reopen this week, with Welshpool also opening today, and Newtown which opened yesterday.

These are the opening times:

Llandod - open from 9am to 5pm, Wednesday to Friday, and 10am to 4pm, Saturday and Sunday.

Newtown - 9am to 5pm, Monday to Wednesday, and 10am to 4pm, Saturday and Sunday.

Welshpool - 9am to 5pm, Wednesday to Friday, and 10am to 4pm, Saturday and Sunday.

The following changes are being applied to keep staff and users safe:

If you, or anyone in your household has coronavirus symptoms, you should follow government and NHS guidelines, self-Isolate and stay at home.

You may be asked to provide proof of your address before entering the site.

Only cars will be allowed into the tips.

A limited number of cars will be allowed onsite at any time – this will cause delays, so be prepared to queue in your car.

Strict social distancing rules will be in place at all times.

Where possible, there should only be one person per vehicle. Only one person is allowed to leave the vehicle to unload – this means that you can only take things that can be carried by one person. Staff on site cannot help unload or carry items.

There will be a strict 10-minute time limit per car when on site – please segregate waste before arriving to help keep your visit short.
