A MAN who died after "getting into difficulties" in Bala Lake was from Deeside, it has been confirmed.

Dewi Pritchard-Jones, senior coroner for north-west Wales, confirmed the victim to be 53-year-old Philip Gooderham, from Deeside.

On May 28 he was pulled from the lake in Gwynedd and taken to Ysbyty Gwyned in Bangor by air ambulance.

He was pronounced dead despite the best efforts of medics, North Wales Police later said.

The force said the death was not being treated as suspicious and the man's next of kin had been informed.
