POLICE have slammed fly tippers who dumped a pair of couches near a public road and branded them as ‘lazy’.
Officers from Cheshire Police’s Rural Crime Unit discovered the furniture items on Pickmere Lane while out on patrol.
Northwich recycling centre reopened last month, with Cheshire West and Chester Council stating that the tip coped well after lockdown restrictions were eased.
Knutsford tip has also reopened to the public and is using alternating odd and even vehicle registration plate days to prevent the recycling centre from being overwhelmed and having long queues.
But despite being able to dispose of waste safely, some people are choosing to illegally dump it and leave it for others to clear away.
In a tweet, the Cheshire Police Rural Crime Unit said: “Lazy. Say no more.
“Recycle centres are open, however of course the bone idle can’t be bothered.
“Fly tipping once again on Pickmere Lane.”
