Guidance has been issued to the public on staying active while shielding, and spending more time at home during the coronavirus pandemic.
Active Cumbria is supporting Sport England and Public Health England’s Join the Movement campaign.
The campaign, aimed at older people, is designed to promote the physical and mental health benefits of exercise during the pandemic.
In its guidance to the public, Sport England said: “Over the next few weeks you may have health and social appointments cancelled or delayed.
“If you are waiting for treatment, being active is one of the best things you can do to look after your health as part of a healthy lifestyle.”
Sport England’s guidance on home workouts is to clear a space, keep something sturdy nearby for support and a glass of water to sip on between exercises, and maintain a steady pace.
